In a showcase on Wednesday, Sony announced the release dates and prices of the new Playstation 5. The manufacturer also showed the games that will be the first to be available for the upcoming PS5.The Sony Playstation 5 will cost 399.99 euros in the digital edition without a disc drive. The Playstation 5 with disc drive should go for 499.99 over the counter. Both consoles will launch in Germany on November 19th. In the USA, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, PS5 fans will be able to enjoy the new consoles on November 12th.
This means that Sony is sticking to the initially assumed prices for the smaller console. In the meantime it had been speculated that Sony would adjust the price to that of the Xbox Series S , i.e. lower it to 299 euros. The Xbox Series X costs just as much as the Playstation 5 at 499 euros. A small advantage can result from the fact that Microsoft plans to deliver the consoles as early as November 10th.In view of the comparable performance of the Sony and Microsoft consoles, gamers with a smaller budget are more likely to opt for the Xbox Series S and save 25 percent of the price of the PS5 Digital Edition. One of the launch titles can already be purchased for the 100 euros saved. In addition to prices and availability, Sony has presented a whole range of opulent games for the Playstation 5. These included Spiderman: Miles Morales, Hogwarts Legacy, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Resident Evil: Village, Deathloop, Devil May Cry 5, Oddworld Soulstorm, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Demon’s Souls and Fortnite.
