Why are humans so determined to find intelligent life on other planets, when we can find it right here in the animal kingdom, yet choose to ignore it? The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated. Until man extends his compassion to every living creature, the man himself will not know what is peace.
I grew up in the 50s in a violent household. My first memories of animal life were very special to me. There was fighting to go on in the house screaming, swearing I was about 5 years old. So I ran outside and hid in the bushes so they couldn’t find me. My heart was broken and I was sobbing. Out of nowhere, a bird landed on my leg I continued to cry, and it just looked at me. So I started telling the bird why I was crying, its eyes never left mine. As I started to calm down I reached out to thank the bird with a soft touch and it never moved it.
when I stopped crying the bird closed its eyes. Opened their eyes and flew away. since that day I’ve always had a special bond with animals of all kinds and very grateful that I believe animals understand hearts better than humans do.
